The Fischer Disposable Series meets the needs of medical device manufacturers whose products are designed for disposal after a short number of uses. This push-pull circular connector is a cost effective solution that does not compromise on quality. This product range truly contributes to the competitive pricing and performance necessary for disposable medical devices. Whether directly mounted into a disposable hand piece, overmolded or mounted to a disposable cable, this plastic connector offers multiple configurations and optimally suits a wide array of applications, from catheters to surgical hand tools and more.

New Fischer Disposable Turnkey Solution

The new Fischer Disposable Turnkey Solution has similar features as the rest of the disposable range but is pre-cabled and therefore immediately useable in an application. The Fischer Disposable Turnkey Solution has an ingress protection of IP65, is dust tight and protected against water and also provides a high degree of electrical insulation. Compatible with the receptacles of the Fischer Core Series (rated at 10,000 mating cycles), it is available with brass contacts in an 8 pin configuration as standard (a 16 pin configuration is available on demand), 1,2 or 5 meter lengths of PVC medical cable, and it is fast and simple to integrate into any medical device.

Managing Risk in Medical Connectors
This paper was written to educate those involved with the design and manufacture of medical devices about some important upcoming changes that will be enacted by the FDA. Understanding the implications of these new regulations before they take effect will enable manufacturers to adjust their business plans and adapt accordingly. In short, manufacturers will soon bear responsibility for conducting risk management processes in compliance with applicable standards. It is our belief that working with qualified suppliers will improve a manufacturers’ ability to comply with these new quality systems and risk management requirements and help them maintain their competitive edge.
