Sealing Properties for Extreme Environments
Fischer Connectors excels at producing a wide variety of connector body
styles and contact configurations which are available with several levels of
sealing. Our sealing solutions are engineered and tested to withstand the
specific operating environment they are tailored for, ensuring reliable
performance in all conditions.

To just prevent mud, dirt or splashing liquid from fouling or damaging the
contacts and locking mechanisms, using protective caps and boots is the most
cost-effective solution.

According to the “Ingress Protection Classification System”, our liquid and
dust tight connectors are available up to an IP68 sealing protection. The
combination of o-ring joints and epoxy-resin used for the sealing allows our
connectors to work even continually immersed in water. They remain sealed even
when unmated.

For applications requiring exposure to pressure, vacuum, liquids or steam, we
provide hermetically sealed connectors, which remain sealed mated or unmated.
Vacuum-tested during their manufacturing process, they are guaranteed to have a
leakage rate of less than 10-8 mbar·l/s.
Another significant advantage of the Fischer Connectors product line is
that our sealed connectors mate with both sealed and/or unsealed versions. This
means important cost savings as sealed and unsealed connectors can be
intermixed exactly as needed to meet the minimum sealing requirements of the
application.
