With its new Fischer L.U.C.™ (Limited Use Connector) specifically designed for disposable devices, Fischer Connectors® introduces a cost effective solution that does not compromise on quality. Engineered to take advantage of high volume savings while still offering the proven reliability of a Fischer Connectors® product, the new Fischer L.U.C.™ truly contributes to the competitive pricing and performance necessary for disposable medical devices.

The new Fischer L.U.C.™ offers multiple configurations and optimally suits a wide array of applications, from catheters to surgical hand tools and more. The plug can either be directly mounted into a disposable hand piece, or overmolded with the user’s own choice of mold. Both configurations are easily customizable and are ideal for compact designs. A third option is to mount the plug to a disposable cable, either with a one-piece back shell for simple and economic designs or a two-piece back shell with snap lock design for easy assembly. The two-piece back shell model offers additional features such as an ergonomic rubber grip, standard colors plus custom color options and space to easily accommodate embedded electronics that could for instance disable the connector at a preset number of uses. Parts are capable of withstanding EtO and Gamma sterilization processes, conforming with the requirements of the UL/IEC 60601 directives.

Cost-savings can easily be achieved with the new Fischer L.U.C.™ system. Mateable with all high performance Fischer panel and cable receptacles, Fischer new disposable plug allows permanent equipment to keep working with high cycle lifetime receptacles. Accepting a maximum cable diameter of 8.7[mm], the new Fischer L.U.C.™ is available from 2 to 19 pins with solder or crimp contacts.
