We’re on the cusp of an explosion in wearable technologies – a new category that will revolutionize b2c (business-to-consumer) and b2b (business-to-business) markets. This trend paper will give you an overview of current trends in wearable technologies, and dive deeper into emerging applications in diverse markets with a special focus on b2b and commercial applications: healthcare, industry, robotics, defense and sport.

Devices can be put through years of U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) trials, with additional tests in Europe, so reducing the risks associated with any device is paramount in the designer’s approach. This white paper takes a look at the increasing need for mobile and patient worn devices, and makes recommendations on proper approaches to designing interconnect solutions for those applications.

Communications protocol is a system of digital message formats and rules for exchanging messages in or between computing systems and in telecommunications. A protocol may have a formal description. Protocols may include signaling, authentication, and error detection and correction capabilities. The first part of this document provides an overview of the most relevant parameters that determine whether a connector and/or a cable assembly can withstand a defined data protocol. The second part shows the performances of the Fischer MiniMax™ Series and the Fischer UltiMate™ Series cabled connectors according to Ethernet, USB and HDMI protocols.
