NPI Operations Project Manager

The New Product Introduction Operations Project Manager (NPI OPM) launches products on time, with high quality and maximum customer availability.
A successful NPI is a leader and facilitator, dynamic, self-driven, organized and detail oriented. S/he excels in project management, communicates with ease at all levels, thrives in an ambiguous environment and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading Contract Manufacturer (CM) operations team in planning and executing pre-series builds and new product ramps
  • Leading domestic and international plants cross-functional team in planning and executing pre-series builds and new product ramps
  • Drive ramp readiness with engineering, operations, marketing, sales and CM teams.
  • Plan capacity and lead factory equipment budget
  • Handle component readiness to ensure part availability, quality and cost
  • Communicate requirements and schedules to facilitate technical readiness with supply chain teams
  • Provide dashboards, reporting, status, risks assessment associated with pre-series builds and new product ramps
  • Influence product manufacturability, testability, and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility while stewarding quality
  • Leading all communications, upward and downward through the organization; raising key issues and options for resolution with executive teams 

Hard Skills

  • Min 8 years of experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering or product development
  • Demonstrated cross-functional and multisite leadership experience
  • Strong background in project management
  • Results oriented and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present to management
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Operational / supply chain expertise and prior CM management experience
