Just a few months after the launch of the Fischer FiberOptic Series Hybrid, Fischer Connectors received two awards for this revolutionary product.

This unique solution of two fiber channels and two electrical contacts in one small high performance connector were recognized by the US based media Lightwave and Electronic Design.

Lightwave, a publication that brings 25 years of trusted technical insights to today’s optical communications professionals, awarded the Fischer FiberOptic Series Hybrid with the an Honorable Mention for technical merit during the Lightwave Innovation awards, an optical communications technology recognition program.

The Fischer FiberOptic Series Hybrid easy field cleaning approach enables integrators to speed installation and save labor costs, which was recognized by the jury.

The Fischer FiberOptic Series Hybrid also took the 37th place in the Top 101 Components of 2014 ranking, a list established by Electronic Design each year. Electronic Design, part of the Penton Electronics Group, is the electronic design engineer’s source for design ideas and solutions, new technology information and engineering essentials. It considers a component ‘anything we use that isn’t memory or a device that executes a program from memory’ and recognized our product’s robustness and smart design.

Both publications highlighted the innovation and the reliability of the Fischer FiberOptic Series hybrid: a connector with both fiber and electrical contacts now offered in a single rugged connecting solution, allowing both power and data to be transmitted flawlessly through one connector. This saves space, money, design and installation time, and offers premium optical performance in all environments, indoor and outdoor. Similar to the Fischer FiberOptic Series FO2 and FO4, the hybrid FOH 2-2 benefits from a mono-block mate adapter for easy access to ferrules giving the possibility for easy field cleaning and maintenance.
