Fischer Connectors and Draka Receive “Best of IBC2010” Award
Fischer Connectors, a key player in the broadcast connector industry announces that together with Draka Communications, a global leader in the cabling and optical fiber industry, the two companies have received TVBEurope’s ‘Best of IBC2010’ award for innovation and cost-efficiency for their new integrated HD Triax cable and connector that adds more than 30% working freedom for camera crews.
With over 1,300 exhibitors and 48,500 attendees in Amsterdam, IBC is the premier annual conference and exhibition for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and media content worldwide.
This award-winning plug and play broadcast solution combines redesigned HD Triax cable and connector components for working cable lengths increased by more than 30%, offering vastly improved transmission distances that extend the limits of HDTV cameras, maximizing the performance of existing Triax equipment without the need for additional investment in fiber.
“For both Fischer Connectors and our partner Draka it’s a great honour that our industry gives us recognition for the results of a close teamwork that produced our new HD camera cable and connector solution,“ says Daniel Spycher, Fischer Connectors Director of Product Portfolio & Group Key Accounts. “Many visitors to our stand at IBC 2010 expressed their appreciation of how this new cable and connector solution will extend the investment life cycle for a huge base of Triax users without resorting to optical technology upgrades.”
Triax is a key technology to interconnect HDTV cameras and related equipment in the professional broadcast industry. Resulting from extensive research and development between Fischer Connectors and Draka, the innovative combination has been tested and approved by the leading international camera manufacturers to verify the largely increased transmission distance from Triax HD equipment, while providing optimum signal performance.
